French indie folk artist Mina Tindle has announced the release of Compass Rosa (Expanded Edition)
, a deluxe version of her 2025 album. The expanded project is scheduled for release on April 24, 2026, via the Paris-based label s76.
This bolstered edition introduces three new tracks to the original record: My Light
, Chant Andalou
, and Ladies
. The track Ladies
has been released as the first preview of the expanded project.
Tindle describes the song Ladies
as an ode to the all-knowing women in my life — those who always seem to sense what’s coming, for better or worse, and who still find the courage to keep going and move forward
.
Collaborations and Musical Direction
The expanded edition continues Tindle’s work with longtime collaborator Sufjan Stevens. Stevens appears on the new track My Light
, which is described as a haunting ballad centered on grief.
Regarding the themes of My Light
, Tindle stated that the song is about trying to keep the light of those we have lost in our lives… right behind the Sun… as a direction, as a compass
.
Stevens had previously contributed to the original release of the album through the duet Heaven Thunder
. The new material explores themes of introspection, friendship, and sorority, aiming to serve as a remedy to global upheavals.
Production and Artistic Process
The foundations of Compass Rosa
were established during an intimate writing retreat between Tindle and her husband, Bryce Dessner of the band The National. The album was subsequently recorded over a five-day period at the studio of producer David Chalmin.

The project features significant contributions from members of The National’s musical circle. Bryce Dessner provided string arrangements performed by the Quatuor Zaïde, which established the album’s chamber-folk foundation. Multi-instrumentalist Ben Lanz contributed synth textures and rhythmic elements to the recordings.
Originally released in November 2025, Compass Rosa
represented Tindle’s first full-length album since 2020’s SISTER
.
Upcoming Live Performances
Tindle is scheduled to perform a headline show at Le Trianon in Paris on April 13, 2026. The performance will feature several special guests from The National, including vocalist Matt Berninger and Bryce and Aaron Dessner.
The appearance is notable as the group has not performed together as a full band since the fall of 2024. Other guests for the Paris show include Here’s The Kit and Ben Lanz.
