The ‘Shinhan SOL Pay Handball H League (hosted by the Korea Handball Federation, hereinafter referred to as H League)’, newly launched last year, started its ’24-’25 season on the 10th. Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (hereinafter referred to as Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Yoo In-chon and Second Vice Minister Jang Mi-ran attended the H-League opening ceremony held at the Olympic Park Handball Stadium on the 10th and celebrated the start of the competition with congratulatory remarks and the first pitch. I also watched the opening match between Doosan and Hanam City Hall and cheered on the players.
Following the Super League from 2009 to 2010 and the SK Handball Korea League from 2011 to 2022, the H League, which was launched in the 2023-24 season, has a total of 14 teams, including 8 women’s teams and 6 men’s teams. The team is participating.
Following last year, Minister Yoo attended the opening ceremony of this season and gave a congratulatory speech. Minister Yoo introduced Korea’s record of handball’s 41 consecutive years of participation in the Olympics and expressed his intention to closely cooperate with related organizations so that the public can enjoy various sports, including handball. In particular, for handball, it was proposed to operate a new promotion system league starting next year and expand the base of the sport by collaborating with business teams.
As Vice Minister Jang Mi-ran visited the National Sports Festival and the National Sports Festival for the Disabled this year to encourage the athletes, she personally threw out the opening pitch and continued to communicate with the athletes.
