Forum on Tolerance Inaugurated by Education Minister

The Education Minister, Mr. Yusuf bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, opened the Forum on Tolerance at the Ministry of Education. This event celebrates the International Day of Tolerance, observed every November 16. The inauguration included Dr. Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Isa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League, along with experts, academics, and representatives from various organizations.

The program began with a visit to an exhibition showcasing contributions from several institutions, including the Center for Intellectual Protection and the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue.

In his speech, the Education Minister stressed the significance of tolerance as a core human value. He stated that tolerance fosters social cohesion and stability. He emphasized that tolerance must be instilled from a young age to allow future leaders to create a better society.

The Minister noted that under King Salman bin Abdulaziz’s leadership, Saudi Arabia emphasizes the value of tolerance. He explained that Saudi Vision 2030 supports dialogue and respect for cultural diversity. The Ministry of Education integrates values of tolerance into the curriculum and promotes programs for cultural exchange and international education.

Dr. Al-Isa highlighted the crucial role of educational institutions in promoting tolerance. He praised the “Mecca Document” and its integration into educational curricula and programs. He underscored the importance of educators in fostering tolerance and mentioned the need for critical thinking and dialogue.

The forum included discussions on institutional initiatives and the efforts of schools to promote tolerance. Sessions featured topics such as the National Curriculum Center and programs for scholarship students that enhance cultural communication.
