Minjee lee Wins KPMG Women’s PGA Championship

⁢ ⁤ ⁤Updated June 23, 2025

FRISCO, Texas -⁣ Minjee Lee displayed unwavering resolve to capture the⁢ 2025 KPMG Women’s ‌PGA Championship at Fields Ranch East. Despite a challenging ⁤start and sweltering heat, Lee finished at four-under par, securing a ⁤three-stroke‍ victory and her‍ third ⁢major title.

Lee, who began the final ‌round‍ with a four-shot ⁤lead, faced early adversity with bogeys on the 3rd, ⁤5th, and 6th holes. Auston Kim’s three‌ consecutive birdies‍ narrowed the gap to two strokes. However, Lee remained ⁣composed, drawing on lessons learned from⁤ past experiences, including a disappointing⁣ final round ‍at the 2024⁢ U.S. Women’s Open.

“I just tried to⁣ be really simple out there,” lee said. “It was just so‌ tough⁢ with ⁤the wind, so ‌I ⁤just ⁤tried to take it one step at a time…I think I managed myself‍ really well.”

Lee ⁣regained momentum ‌with ‌a birdie on‍ the ‍9th, followed ⁤by steady play thru the⁢ back nine. A critical par putt on‍ the 13th,⁣ coupled with birdies on the 14th and ⁣15th, ⁣solidified her‌ lead and paved the way for a ‍triumphant ⁢finish.

“I⁣ feel⁣ like I really deserve this one,” Lee said after⁣ her victory.

this win ⁢places Lee‌ among the elite in women’s ⁣golf, surpassing the major title count of players like Nelly ⁣Korda and Jin-Young Ko. It also ‌moves her closer ‌to a career Grand slam and potential Hall of Fame enshrinement.

Lee attributed ⁤her success to a renewed focus ‌on her putting, aided ⁤by a switch to a long putter⁤ earlier this year. More than chasing accolades, Lee said the victory validated her process and proved she could overcome self-doubt.

“I feel like I had ‍a lot of‍ doubt the past few years,” she said. “I think the more ⁢I heard media and other people saying things about my putting, I think it got to me more and more over time. I⁢ think this one just means ⁤a little bit more‌ to me.”

What’s next

Lee’s next stop is the Evian Championship in france, scheduled‌ for July‌ 10-13. With renewed ‌confidence, she aims to continue her winning momentum and further solidify her legacy in the world of golf.
