Missing Minnesota Student Remembered ⁤at Graduation

Bemidji,‍ Minn. — The absence of ‌Nevaeh Kingbird, who disappeared Oct. 22, 2021, was deeply felt at the Bug-O-Nay-ge-shig ‍School graduation⁤ ceremony.Despite the sadness, ‍graduates honored ​her memory, carrying her‌ spirit with them.

Kingbird’s teacher, Bambi Brown, delivered a heartfelt address, recalling vivid memories of Nevaeh and another student, Preston, who⁤ had‌ also passed away. Brown​ noted that Kingbird, a talented volleyball player ⁣with a passion for art⁢ and Ojibwe language, deeply felt Preston’s death.

Before her disappearance, Nevaeh Kingbird, a missing⁢ student, had been working on a vision board filled with‌ quotes about ⁣loss. Brown mentioned that Nevaeh often wore Preston’s clothes as​ a way to feel closer to him, highlighting her sentimental nature.

“You could ⁣frequently enough hear‌ Nevaeh saying, ‘Love you’ to her friends as she went down the hall,” Brown said, ‍emphasizing Kingbird’s caring personality.
