The University of Minnesota women’s golf team finished round one of the Big Ten Conference Championships in 15th place on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, California. The Golden Gophers posted a team score of 307 (+27) for the first round of the three-day tournament.
Senior Isabella McCauley led Minnesota with a round-one score of 74 (+4), placing her in 42nd place individually. She made par on twelve holes during the opening round. The team’s performance came as they sought to improve upon their standing ahead of Saturday’s second round.
In the individual leaderboard, Illinois’ Anna Ritter held the top spot after carding a 5-under-par 65 in round one. No. 2-ranked Southern California led the team standings with a score of 276 (-4), maintaining their position at the summit of the leaderboard after the first day of play.
Other notable performances for Minnesota included senior Olivia Deakins, who shot a 77 (+7) and tied for 64th place, recording two birdies in her round. Junior Luisamariana Mesones carded an 80 (+10) to sit in 77th place, including a birdie on the fourth hole. Sophomore Reese McCauley struggled with a 13-over-par 83, placing her in 90th position, while senior Madison Le finished in 55th place with a score of 76 (+6).
Following the first round, Minnesota looked ahead to the second round scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, which was set to begin with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. CT.
