Phong Chau Bridge Collapse: Search for Victims Continues
On September 30, Phu Tho provincial police announced the mobilization of 10 additional police officers and soldiers from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to join the search for victims of the Phong Chau bridge collapse in Tam Nong district, Phu Tho.
Thirty soldiers equipped with special diving equipment approached the scene and worked with other troops to conduct an emergency search for the victims.
On the morning of September 15, search teams approached the scene, which was about 23 meters from the collapsed Phong Chau Bridge in Ward 19 (Van Xuan Commune, Tam Nong District). Here, authorities found a tractor trailer with the license plate number 011.11R-XNUMX parked there.
During a dive search, authorities did not find any victims in the vehicle’s cabin.

On September 2, three spans of the Phong Chau Bridge collapsed. Six cars, a motorbike, and three electric vehicles fell into the river. Eight people were rescued, and three people are missing. The Phu Tho provincial police issued a notice to identify the victims.
On September 14, as water levels in the Red River dropped, authorities organized a search for missing people and planned to salvage the collapsed bridge girders.
