Miracle on Wailua Beach: Kauai First Responders Save Family of Four in Daring Rescue Operation

Kauai Emergency Responders Rescue Four Residents from Ocean
Kauai emergency responders rescued four Hanamaulu residents from the ocean near Nukoli’i Beach on Wailua Island on Sunday.
Just after 6:20 p.m., the Kauai Fire Department received a call of four swimmers in distress at the location. Personnel from the Lihue and Kapaa Fire Departments responded, along with three rescue teams aboard Air 1, along with the Kauai Police Department.
They arrived at the scene within 10 minutes and found two adults and two children holding hands drifting about 100 yards offshore.
Firefighters on rescue surfboards reached the swimmers and safely brought them to shore. No injuries were reported.
After medical personnel from American Medical Response assessed the four people, they were rescued on the spot.
