Mirra Andreeva has advanced to the final of the Upper Austria Ladies Linz after defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse in the semi-finals on April 11, 2026. The top seed secured her place in the championship match with a 6-4, 6-1 victory.

The match lasted 87 minutes, during which the 18-year-old Andreeva overcame early challenges in the first set. Although she broke Ruse’s serve in the opening game, Andreeva subsequently lost her own serve twice, falling behind early in the set.

Andreeva recovered by breaking Ruse’s serve twice more in the first set, including a break to love in the eighth game after pulling the score level at 4-4. This allowed the world number ten to claim the first set 6-4.

Second Set Dominance

The second set was more one-sided, with Andreeva dropping only one game. She broke Ruse in the fourth and sixth games to secure the 6-1 result. During this set, Andreeva won 67% of her first-serve points and 71% of her points on the second serve.

In contrast, the unseeded Ruse struggled with her serve, recording six double-faults throughout the match. The defeat ended Ruse’s attempt to win her first WTA-500 title.

Potapova Reaches Final

Andreeva will face Anastasia Potapova in the final on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Potapova earned her place in the showpiece match on April 11, 2026, by defeating Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2.

Potapova Reaches Final

Potapova’s achievement is historically significant as she becomes the first Austrian to reach the Linz final. Potapova is also a former champion of the event, having won the Linz title in 2023.

Andreeva’s 2026 Season

The Linz Open marks a tournament debut for Andreeva. Reaching the final represents her second WTA Tour final of the 2026 season.

Her first final of the year took place in January 2026 at the Adelaide showpiece, where she won the title by defeating Victoria Mboko.

The final between the top seed Andreeva and the home favorite Potapova is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026.
