Jacob Misiorowski Set for MLB Debut with Brewers Against Cardinals

jacob Misiorowski, the Milwaukee Brewers’ highly touted pitching prospect, is slated to make his major league debut Thursday night. The 23-year-old right-hander will start the opening game of a four-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Misiorowski, ranked as the organization’s third-best prospect by Baseball america, was called up from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday night. In 13 games with Nashville, including 12 starts, Misiorowski recorded a 4-2 record with a 2.13 ERA. He tallied 80 strikeouts in 63 1/3 innings.
“I think it just plays into the fact that the Brewers trust me,” Misiorowski said Wednesday. “I think I’m ready and willing to do it. So, I’m excited.”
The Brewers drafted Misiorowski in the second round of the 2022 amateur draft from Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri. While a September call-up was considered last season, he remained in Nashville, developing as a starter.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy confirmed the promotion had been under consideration for weeks. the team values Misiorowski’s potential as a key member of their starting rotation. His fastball averages 97-98 mph, occasionally exceeding 100 mph, complemented by a slider, curveball, and changeup.
