Chickasha, Oklahoma – Authorities in Oklahoma have arrested the mother and stepfather of a missing 12-year-old boy, Ryan Davis, also known as RJ or Ryker, on allegations of child abuse. The arrests come as the search for Ryan continues, with investigators describing his disappearance as suspicious.

Ryan was last seen on January 2nd in Chickasha, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI). The case has drawn increasing attention, with community volunteers joining law enforcement in an intensive search effort spanning Caddo and Grady counties.

Kimberly Cole and George Cole were taken into custody late Wednesday night, facing complaints of child abuse, child sexual abuse, and conspiracy, the OSBI announced on Thursday. OSBI spokesperson Hunter McKee stated during a press briefing that During the conversation with them, it was learned that there was apparent harm done to this child while he was living with these two parents.

McKee refrained from providing specific details regarding the alleged abuse, citing the ongoing investigation and pending official charges. However, he emphasized that the environment in which Ryan was living was not a safe environment for him. Search warrants were executed at locations connected to the couple prior to their arrest.

The arrests follow reports from a relative, Tina Molina, who spoke publicly about alleged abuse within the family. Molina, Ryan’s great-aunt, claims the boy had repeatedly attempted to escape what she describes as an abusive home. She alleges that Ryan feared returning to his parents after a previous escape from a Quality Inn in Chickasha, where the family was residing at the time.

According to Molina, Ryan expressed a desire for revenge on his mom, dad and his sister during a conversation on December 11th. She claims Ryan was subjected to physical abuse, including being shackled his feet, handcuffed him and made him stand in the bathroom so he couldn’t use it or do anything. Molina stated she was afraid of the couple, despite trying to help Ryan.

The case echoes concerns raised in other recent missing persons investigations. Detectives in a separate case are investigating whether the appearance of 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard may have been altered with a wig before her disappearance, highlighting the complexities and vulnerabilities faced by missing children.

As of Sunday, January 11th, Ryan Davis was found safe in Chickasha, according to an update from authorities. The circumstances surrounding his discovery and the ongoing investigation into the alleged abuse remain under scrutiny.

The Caddo County Sheriff’s Office has released booking photos of George Cole and Kimberly Cole, both of whom remain in custody. No formal charges have been filed against them as of Friday, according to the OSBI. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Ryan Davis’s case to come forward.

The case has resonated with the local community, prompting a significant volunteer effort to aid in the search. The offer of a cash reward for information leading to Ryan’s safe return underscores the urgency and concern surrounding his well-being. The situation highlights the critical role of community involvement and the importance of reporting suspected child abuse.

The ongoing investigation is expected to shed further light on the circumstances surrounding Ryan Davis’s disappearance and the allegations of abuse. The case serves as a stark reminder of the hidden dangers faced by vulnerable children and the need for vigilance and support within communities.
