Missing BUAP Student’s Body Found in Alseseca River, Puebla

Discovery at Lomas de San Miguel and Official Identification Status

The remains were recovered at the Lomas de San Miguel neighborhood in the city of Puebla, situated between Ahuizotl and Xicoténcatl streets. Residents alerted emergency services after spotting the body trapped among trash in the river’s current. Municipal police, state firefighters, civil protection teams, search commission personnel, and the Mexican Army deployed to the ravine to extract the body. While family members and media reports noted that the clothing on the recovered body matches what the missing student wore on the day of his disappearance, the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) stated that scientific confirmation remains pending. Geolocality data and security camera footage previously directed search efforts toward the ravine crossed by the Alseseca River, where search parties previously located his backpack. During the two weeks following his disappearance, relatives, friends, and local search brigades maintained active operations on the ground and across social media. Personnel from the State Search Commission, the State Secretariat of Public Security, and the Puebla City Citizen Security Secretariat secured the area surrounding the river during the recovery operation.
