Missing Maui Woman: LAPD Investigates Disappearance of Hannah Kobayashi
Missing Maui Woman in Los Angeles: What We Know
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Hannah Kobayashi, a 30-year-old woman from Haiku, Maui. Hannah went missing after arriving at LAX on Friday, where she missed her flight to New York City.
Her father, Ryan Kobayashi, is currently in Los Angeles to search for her. The family has filed a report with the FBI to aid in the investigation. Ryan stated, “We’re just trying to get as much information as we can. Want to get the word out… has anyone seen my daughter?”
Hannah’s family mentioned that her ex-boyfriend, who was also on the flight from Maui, did not sit with her and they did not have contact during the journey. He successfully made his connecting flight to New York City and has cooperated with investigators.
Ryan expressed his concern: “A lot of worrying, a lot of confusion… I haven’t slept well since I’ve heard the news. It’s just really concerning.”
A newly released security camera photo shows Hannah at LAX. Additionally, a short YouTube video features her outside an event in Los Angeles on Saturday. The last known location from her phone was back at LAX on Monday.
Hannah sent a concerning text to a friend saying, “I got tricked pretty much into giving away all my funds for someone I thought I loved,” followed by another message expressing fear.
Ryan’s message to Hannah emphasizes his love and concern: “There’s a lot of people looking for you. If you see anything, just go to the police… There’s a lot of people that care and love you. Let us know that you’re OK.”
