What happened?
Mick was discovered missing after his father woke up during the night and found the front door open. According to Ruud Hendriks, a cousin of Mick’s father, this is highly unusual behavior for the young man. “He never actually went out alone,” Hendriks told Omroep brabant on Friday afternoon. “This has never happened before. Outside the family, Mick has poor interaction skills.”
The initial search began on Edelhertlaan, where Mick resides, and has as been expanded. Search efforts continued throughout the night.
The Search Operation
A major search operation has been announced, coordinated by the Missing Coordination Platform, and will commence saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. from the CPV wagen at Heibloemweg 10 in Helmond. Volunteers aged 18 and over are requested to participate and are advised to dress warmly due to the cold weather and snowfall.
On Friday afternoon, approximately one hundred veterans from the Veterans Search Team Foundation assembled at the canteen of the tennis club at Espendonk sports park to assist in the search. They were joined by the Mobile Unit (ME), a drone team, a police helicopter, the Netherlands Rescue Dogs Foundation (SIN), and local residents.
