Washington, D.C. police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Ana Cecelia escobar-Arevalo, 40, a mother of two who disappeared Friday morning.Authorities have classified Escobar-Arevalo as a “critical missing person.”
Escobar-Arevalo was last seen around 7 a.m. in the 5800 block of 8th Street Northeast, near the border with Prince George’s County, according to police reports. Her husband, Hugo Pérez, has been posting flyers in neighborhoods such as Columbia Heights, seeking any information about her whereabouts. The search for the missing mother, Ana Cecelia Escobar-Arevalo, intensifies as family and authorities collaborate.
Pérez expressed his deep concern, stating, “My family, my kids, her family, we are worried. We really need everybody’s help.”
Pérez said he contacted area hospitals and fire stations, inquiring about any incidents involving Escobar-Arevalo or her vehicle, a 2008 Honda CRV with D.C. license plate EB-2261. He also voiced concerns that Escobar-Arevalo, a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from El salvador, might have been detained by immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). However, he stated that ICE indicated she was not in their custody.
