Mississippi State Soccer Finishes Historic Season
Mississippi State’s soccer season ended with a 2-0 loss to Notre Dame in the NCAA Sweet 16. Despite this defeat, the Bulldogs achieved remarkable milestones this year, setting several records and gaining national recognition.
The team won its first SEC Regular Season Championship, finishing 10-0 in conference play. This achievement marked only the fourth time in SEC history this has been accomplished. The Bulldogs ended the regular season with a record of 19 wins and 3 losses, the most in school history. Head Coach James Armstrong became the program’s all-time winningest coach this season.
The Bulldogs’ defense was a key factor in their success, leading the nation in shutout percentage and goals-against average. They allowed only two goals during conference play, showcasing a strong defensive performance against top SEC teams. The offense also thrived, making them a competitive force throughout the season.
