Municipal election results are being released across mid-Missouri following the closing of polling locations on April 8, 2026. Voters in several counties, including Boone and Cole, participated in elections for city council seats, school board positions, and local bonds.

Columbia City Council and School Board Results

In Columbia, Christina Hartman has unseated incumbent Don Waterman for the Fifth Ward City Council seat. According to reporting from KOMU 8, Hartman won the seat with 1,332 votes compared to 981 for Waterman.

Hartman is the founder and chief information security officer of Banshee Cybersecurity and possesses 15 years of experience in information technology. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College and has lived in Columbia since 2019.

Other results in Columbia include the reelection of three incumbent candidates to the Columbia School Board.

Jefferson City and Regional Updates

In Jefferson City, Rodemeyer has won a seat on the Board of Education.

Election officials in Boone County reported that 1,524 absentee ballots were cast in the April election.

Election Procedures and Requirements

Polling places across the state were open from 6 a.m. To 7 p.m. On April 8, 2026. No-excuse absentee voting for these municipal elections opened on March 24 and concluded on April 6.

Under Missouri state law, voters were required to present a valid photo ID issued by the federal government or the state of Missouri. Acceptable identification included passports, military IDs, or Missouri driver’s and nondriver’s licenses. Registered voters who lacked a valid ID were permitted to vote using a provisional ballot.
