Indie singer-songwriter Mitski is concluding a five-night residency at the Hollywood High School auditorium, marking her only performances in Los Angeles for 2026. The series of concerts, which began on March 30, 2026, serves as a promotion for her eighth studio album, Nothing’s About To Happen To Me
.
The residency takes place in the school’s 1,900-seat auditorium, a venue characterized by its thin, old foldout wooden chairs. The scheduled dates for the engagement include March 30 and 31 and April 2 through April 4, 2026. Each performance features special guest Haley Heynderickx as the opening act.
A Tradition of Unusual Venues
Mitski’s choice of venue follows a limited tradition of major rock and pop artists performing at the high school. Notable previous performers in the auditorium include Elvis Costello in 1978, who later released a live album of that show in 2010, and Morrissey in 2013.
During the opening show on March 30, Mitski commented on the psychological impact of returning to a school environment, noting that upon arriving on campus, her brain immediately clocked all the exits and places I can hide
.
Hollywood High’s Entertainment Legacy
The 123-year-old institution is deeply entwined with the entertainment industry. This connection is evidenced by the school’s mascot and teams, the Sheiks, which were named after Rudolph Valentino’s 1921 role in the film The Sheik
.

The campus has also served as a filming location for various television shows and movies, including The Optimist
, Nancy Drew
, Made
, and Penn &. Teller: Bullshit
. The school counts several show-business icons among its alumni and former students, including Cher, Judy Garland, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Carol Burnett.
Album Release and Promotion
The residency coincides with the launch of Mitski’s new project. Her eighth studio album, Nothing’s About to Happen to Me
, was released on February 27, 2026. The promotional cycle for the album included the release of the single I’ll Change for You
, which served as the second preview of the record.
The high demand for the residency was evident during the ticketing process. Public sales began on February 13, 2026, following an artist presale that opened on February 11.
