The landscape of Major League Baseball streaming is undergoing a significant shift, with ESPN now firmly established as the home of MLB.TV. For baseball fans seeking comprehensive access to out-of-market games, the options have been streamlined, and new subscription models are available as of February 10, 2026.

ESPN Unlimited and MLB.TV: A Combined Offering

ESPN is offering MLB.TV as a standalone service, but also bundled with ESPN Unlimited, providing a broader sports entertainment package. New subscribers to MLB.TV will receive a one-month free trial of ESPN Unlimited, opening the door to a vast library of content beyond baseball, including NFL, NBA, and college sports. After the initial trial period, ESPN Unlimited auto-renews at $29.99 per month.

Subscription Options and Pricing

MLB.TV is available through two primary subscription tiers: monthly and seasonal. The MLB.TV Monthly plan is priced at $29.99 per month, offering access to all out-of-market games live or on demand. The MLB.TV Seasonal plan, costing $149.99, provides access for the entire MLB regular season, along with MLB Network access through the end of the World Series. Both plans include a one-month free trial of ESPN.

For those interested in a more focused offering, MLB.TV Single Team subscriptions are available, but currently exclusively through MLB.com. The MLB+ package, priced at $59.99 annually, provides streaming access to MLB Network 24/7 (US only), live audio for all 30 teams, and live MiLB games. This subscription automatically renews annually.

What’s Included with MLB.TV

Beyond live and on-demand out-of-market games, MLB.TV subscribers gain access to several additional features. These include MLB Big Inning, a condensed game format, and extensive video-on-demand content. Live audio feeds for all MLB teams are also included, allowing fans to follow the action even when a video stream isn’t available. The MLB.TV Seasonal plan also includes access to MLB Network for the duration of the season and postseason.

Blackout Restrictions and Geographic Limitations

As with any MLB streaming service, blackout restrictions apply. These restrictions are based on geographic location and are designed to protect the broadcast rights of local television networks. Fans should consult MLB.com for detailed information on blackout policies, as they are subject to change. Blackouts apply both nationally and internationally.

MLB.TV Offseason Access and Renewal

MLB.TV Offseason subscriptions are also available, but these will expire around March 24, 2026 and will not automatically renew. MLB Network, MLB Network + At Bat, and At Bat subscriptions, however, will automatically renew monthly. The standard MLB.TV Seasonal subscription renews around February 28, 2027, unless canceled.

Streaming Options and Alternatives

While ESPN is now the primary platform for MLB.TV, other streaming services also offer access to MLB games. Hulu + Live TV provides access to games broadcast on ESPN, FOX, FS1, and TBS, among other channels. Fans can also explore options like DIRECTV STREAM, fuboTV, Sling TV, and YouTube TV, which may carry regional sports networks and MLB Network.

For those solely interested in MLB Network, it is available through a variety of streaming services, including MLB+, DIRECTV STREAM, fuboTV, Hulu Live TV, Philo, Sling TV, and Xfinity Stream. The availability of specific channels can vary depending on location and subscription package.

The Future of MLB Streaming

The move to consolidate MLB.TV under the ESPN umbrella represents a significant development in the way fans consume baseball. By bundling MLB.TV with ESPN Unlimited, the league and ESPN are aiming to provide a more comprehensive and attractive sports entertainment package. The continued growth of streaming services and the increasing demand for live sports content suggest that this trend will continue in the years to come. Fans now have more choices than ever before when it comes to watching their favorite teams, but navigating the various options and understanding the associated blackout restrictions remains a key consideration.
