Fightland 2025: Riddle vs. Dijak III Headlines a Night of Championship Clashes and bitter Rivalries
North Richland Hills, TX – The NYTEX Sports Center is set to explode tonight, Saturday, September 13, 2025, as Major League Wrestling presents Fightland, a spectacle promising high-stakes championship bouts, brutal grudge matches, and the return of the prestigious Opera Cup tournament. For fans unable to witness the action live, Fightland will air at 10 PM eastern on BeIN Sports and stream for free on MLW’s official YouTube channel.
The main event is a collision course years in the making: MLW World Heavyweight Champion Matt Riddle will face his nemesis, Donovan Dijak, for the third time with the title on the line. Their animosity is palpable, a simmering feud that has boiled over across multiple MLW events. It all began at “One Shot,” where Riddle first denied Dijak a title prospect. Riddle then captured the championship at “Kings of Colosseum,” and their paths continued to intertwine, most notably at Battle Riot VII, where Riddle last eliminated Dijak to retain his title. A scheduled match at “Blood and Thunder” was derailed by a backstage attack on Riddle, allegedly orchestrated by Dijak’s manager, Saint Laurent. Now,the stage is set for what promises to be a definitive showdown.
But the World Heavyweight Championship isn’t the only gold up for grabs tonight. The MLW World middleweight Championship, recently vacated by Místico due to injury at Battle Riot VII, will be contested between templario and the opportunistic Ikuro Kwon.Kwon, in a display of disrespect, stole the physical title after Místico relinquished it, taunting the injured former champion for weeks. Now, he must prove he can back up his actions against the formidable templario.
Adding to the championship frenzy, Shoko Nakajima will defend her MLW World Women’s Featherweight Championship against the dynamic Yuki Kamifuku.
Beyond the title fights, a Texas Deathmatch promises unadulterated violence as former MLW National Openweight Champion Alex Hammerstone seeks to settle his score with Matthew Justice. their feud ignited at “Summer of the Beasts” when Justice’s interference cost Hammerstone his title match against Último Guerrero. the ensuing brawl has only intensified the hatred between thes two powerhouses.
The return of the Opera Cup tournament adds another layer of excitement to Fightland. The first round will feature a series of captivating matchups, including Flying Jr. vs. Titan and Blue Panther Jr. vs. Zandokan Jr.
Adding a touch of mystery to the evening, MLW is teasing a special appearance by the enigmatic “Don Gato.”
