Mockingbird Pictures to Present Zero Meets Hero at Beijing International Film Festival

Vietnamese distributor Mockingbird Pictures has boarded the film Zero Meets Hero and will present the title to international buyers at the Beijing International Film Festival. This initiative is part of a strategic effort by the company to increase the presence of Vietnamese commercial cinema in overseas markets.

The film is the latest project from director Huynh Lap and was produced by 17 Production and Hong Tu.

Narrative and Themes

The plot of Zero Meets Hero focuses on two men with few commonalities outside of their biological connection. The story features Mr. Thoi, a war veteran whose sense of identity was established through his military service, and his grandson, Tri Binh.

Tri Binh is portrayed as a member of Generation Z who is struggling with the pressures associated with modern life. The narrative follows the pair on a shared journey triggered by Mr. Thoi’s determination to track down former comrades from the front.

While the film is categorized as a comedy, the story incorporates Vietnamese spiritual beliefs and evolves into a more emotionally substantial narrative as the plot progresses.

Cast and Production

The film features a lead cast including Cody Nam Vo and Meritorious Artist Cao Minh. Director Huynh Lap also appears in the production.
