Mohamed Salah’s position… Top award candidates for World Player of the Year 2024

FIFA announced the nominees for the 2024 “Best” award for the world’s best player on November 29. Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, and others were not included in the list. The shortlist features 11 players, led by Rodri Hernandez and Vinicius Junior.

FIFA selected these nominees based on performances from August 21, 2023, to August 2024. The candidates are:

1. Dani Carvajal – Real Madrid – Spain
2. Erling Haaland – Manchester City – Norway
3. Federico Valverde – Real Madrid – Uruguay
4. Florian Wirtz – Bayer Leverkusen – Germany
5. Jude Bellingham – Real Madrid – England
6. Kylian Mbappe – Real Madrid/Paris Saint-Germain – France
7. Lamine Yamal – Barcelona – Spain
8. Lionel Messi – Inter Miami – Argentina
9. Rodri – Manchester City – Spain
10. Toni Kroos – Real Madrid – Germany
11. Vinicius Junior – Real Madrid – Brazil

The event for the best player is expected to be in early January 2024. FIFA has not yet confirmed the exact date. Previous events took place in London in January.
