Mohammed bin Zayed discussed the development of the situation in Syria with Bashar al-Assad

UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. They discussed the situation in Syria and other issues of mutual interest. The UAE President expressed support for Syria’s fight against terrorism and extremism. He emphasized the Syrian people’s desire for stability, development, unity, and sovereignty over their territory.

This week, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham launched a significant military operation against the Syrian army in northern Syria. This surprise attack allowed the group to gain control of much of Aleppo, Syria’s second-largest city.

Reports from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights indicate that opposition groups have taken control of most of Aleppo and numerous villages and towns in northern Syria.
