Will Ferrell is adding another familiar face to his latest project: Jane ⁤Lynch. The emmy-winning actress will portray Ferrell’s foul-mouthed ex-wife, Stacy, in an upcoming comedy series⁣ for Apple TV+, currently untitled. This marks yet another collaboration for the Saturday Night Live alums, promising a dynamic and hilarious on-screen pairing.

A new Creative Team Behind the Scenes

The series ⁣has undergone some significant changes ⁣behind the camera. Originally conceived with Ramy Youssef as a co-creator alongside Josh Rabinowitz, the project saw youssef, Rabinowitz,⁢ and Andy Campagna of Cairo Cowboy depart last year due to creative differences.

however, the show has rallied with a fresh wave of talent.Ferrell’s ‍long-time collaborator, Chris Henchy,‍ has⁢ joined the⁢ team, alongside Harper Steele (who previously worked with Ferrell on the Netflix documentary Will & Harper), and acclaimed director david Gordon ⁤Green (Halloween, The Righteous Gemstones) and writer Andrew Guest.

This new team is executive producing the series alongside Ferrell, Jessica⁤ Elbaum, and Alix Taylor for Gloria Sanchez productions. Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, and Nena Rodrigue are also executive producers through T-Street. Casting, including the pivotal role of Stacy, commenced after‍ the shift in creative leadership.

A History of Hilarious Collaborations

Ferrell and Lynch have a well-documented history of comedic brilliance ⁣together. Both rose to prominence during their tenures on Saturday Night Live – ⁤Lynch from 1995-2002 and Ferrell from 1996-2002 – and delivered numerous memorable sketches, including the iconic “Dog Show.”

Their partnership ⁢extended beyond Studio 8H with the SNL ⁣offshoot film Superstar, where ‍Lynch brilliantly reprised her beloved SNL character, Mary Katherine Gallagher. More recently, the duo delighted audiences as the hilariously eccentric Rose Parade hosts, Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan, in a Funny or Die/Prime Video special. This established chemistry makes lynch a perfect fit⁢ for the role of Ferrell’s ex-wife.

Jane Lynch’s Current Projects and Continued Success

Lynch ⁢is currently enjoying a career high, fresh off a major recurring role in Season 4 of Only Murders In the Building, for which she shared a SAG Award ⁤for Best Comedy Ensemble with the‍ cast. She’s also slated to appear⁤ in several upcoming projects, including the road trip comedy⁤ Driver’s Ed, Netflix’s People We Meet On Vacation, and the action-comedy Balls Up from Amazon-MGM.

Lynch is represented by UTA,Framework Entertainment, and Hansen,Jacobson,Teller. Her continued success and versatility solidify her ⁣position as⁣ one of comedy’s most beloved and in-demand ⁢performers.

What’s Next for Ramy Youssef?

While no ‍longer involved with the Apple TV+ series, Ramy Youssef remains actively engaged in developing new projects. He and his Cairo Cowboy company are currently⁣ working on an untitled Living Facility series for Netflix with Steve Way, demonstrating his⁢ continued commitment to innovative and thought-provoking television.
