Monkeypox Case Confirmed in Jordan
The Jordanian Ministry of Health has announced the confirmation of a monkeypox case in the country. According to a press statement, the infected individual is a 33-year-old non-Jordanian man who has been living in Jordan.
The man, who exhibited symptoms of the infection in the form of skin rashes, is currently undergoing treatment in isolation at Al-Bashir Hospital. Laboratory tests, including PCR, have been conducted, and his health condition is reported to be stable.
The Ministry of Health has assured the public of its readiness to deal with any developments related to the disease. A National Plan has been prepared in collaboration with concerned authorities to combat the spread of monkeypox.
This is not the first reported case of monkeypox in Jordan. A previous case was recorded on September 8, 2022, and the necessary procedures were followed to prevent the spread of the infection and treat the patient successfully.
The Ministry of Health has advised the public to follow health guidelines, particularly during travel, and to stay informed through official channels.
