Street Fighter 6 Invades Monster Hunter Wilds in New Update
Updated May 27, 2025
The upcoming Ver. 1.011 update for Monster Hunter Wilds, slated for release on May 28, will introduce a collaboration with Street Fighter 6, according to director Yuya Tokuda. The update promises a wealth of new content and adjustments designed to enhance the overall gaming experience.
Tokuda stated that the progress team aims to deliver more engaging content and refine Monster Hunter Wilds through various adjustments. A key highlight is the inclusion of Akuma from Street Fighter as a new challenger. Players will gain access to a full Akuma armor set, including layered armor. Equipping either set adds special items to the item bar: assisted Combo Akuma,Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken.
Version 1.011 also introduces challenging eight-star monsters. Gore Magala,Rey Dau,Uth Duna,Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad will become available for hunters at HR 41 and higher. These monsters provide alternatives to Arkveld for tempered monster hunts, though Arkveld remains available at seven-star difficulty. The eight-star versions boast increased health, wound resistance, and adjusted multiplayer scaling. Tokuda cautioned that Tempered Gore Magala presents a meaningful challenge.
The update will also increase the frequency of higher-difficulty quests and quests featuring multiple monsters as hunter rank increases.
Numerous player-centric balance adjustments are planned for both Ver.1.011 and Title Update 2. Adjustments have been made to the Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun. Certain aspects of Gunlance artian weapons have also been enhanced.
While some weapons have had certain parameters adjusted downward, other parameters have been adjusted upwards, and viewed in totality I think you will find that all weapon types have had their possibilities expanded, so I encourage you to give them a try for yourself once the update is out.
Yuya Tokuda, Director, Monster Hunter Wilds
Tokuda added that the Hammer and Dual Blades are receiving additional improvements.
Quality-of-life improvements include allowing hunters to rest in the Grand Hub and Suja, Peaks of Accord. Resting restores destroyed Pop-up Camps. A confirmation window will no longer appear after obtaining an item when the item pouch is full; the item will automatically be sent to the item box. The visibility of meal effect timers has been improved, with a countdown appearing 10 minutes before expiration. Notification frequency in locales has been reduced, prioritizing higher-priority targets in the surroundings overview. Notifications will no longer block map input.
Hunters can now view captured endemic life. In the Windward Plains, selecting “Check Endemic Life” in Ecological Research allows viewing of creatures, their names, and the size and weight of caught fish. Creatures can be favorited to prevent deletion when storage capacity is exceeded. Tokuda noted that individual creatures may have unique patterns or elements, encouraging players to utilize the favorite feature.
Stability improvements, particularly on Steam, are also expected. Rewards for eight-star investigations and field surveys have been increased, and Guild Point rewards for fishing have been rebalanced.
What’s next
Players can anticipate the release of the Ver 1.011 update on May 28, which promises to deliver a richer and more challenging Monster Hunter Wilds experience with the Street Fighter 6 collaboration and various gameplay enhancements.
