Golden Nymph Awards: Monte-Carlo Television Festival Drama Contenders
The 64th Monte-Carlo Television festival begins Friday, featuring CBS Studios’ “Watson,” starring Morris Chestnut. Nine drama series will compete for the Golden Nymph awards during the festival.
Among the contenders for the prestigious Golden Nymph awards is “Vanguard,” a Swedish miniseries. Produced by FLX with Film i Väst for SVT and distributed by Viaplay Content Distribution, “Vanguard” explores the life of a media mogul navigating passion and duty. The series delves into themes of entrepreneurship, sibling rivalry, and the desire for technological reform.

Also competing is “The Bombing of Pan Am 103,” a U.K. miniseries produced by World Productions. Released by the BBC in the U.K. and Netflix worldwide, the drama centers on the 1988 Lockerbie bombing and the subsequent joint U.K.-U.S. examination. The bombing of Flight Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, resulted in 270 fatalities, including 43 British and 190 American citizens.

“Sherlock & Daughter,” a U.S.-U.K. series produced by Starlings Television and Story First, is also in contention. Distributed by Federation Studios, the series sees Sherlock Holmes, played by David Thewlis, grappling with a case that endangers his friends.
