The Montreal Canadiens are lending their voices to the city’s métro system as part of a special partnership with the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) during the 2026 NHL playoffs. Starting April 16, 2026, Canadiens players began recording onboard station announcements for the Bonaventure and Lucien-L’Allier stations, which serve the Bell Centre arena.

The initiative features recordings from forwards Alexandre Texier, Juraj Slafkovský and Jakub Dobeš, along with defenceman Lane Hutson. These announcements play at all times, regardless of game days, throughout the Canadiens’ playoff run. The STM confirmed the project is a one-time effort carried out at no additional cost, aimed at enhancing the fan experience on transit routes to hockey games.

In addition to the audio announcements, the STM has begun updating messages on its bus line displays to show “Go Habs Go!” during the playoff period. This display update is being rolled out individually across the STM’s fleet of approximately 2,000 buses and is at the discretion of each bus driver. The phrase had previously been involved in a language-related controversy, but the STM noted the current implementation avoids those issues by focusing on station-specific audio and optional bus displays.

The Canadiens opened their 2026 playoff campaign on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 1 of their first-round series. The STM’s audio announcements began the day before the playoff start, on April 16, and will continue for the duration of Montreal’s postseason run. The project highlights a renewed collaboration between the team and public transit authority to connect with fans during the playoff stretch.
