Warning of Genocide and Witnesses Association on Recent Assembly Decisions
The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Movement Association of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa enclaves have expressed concerns that the implementation of the recent assembly of the “All-Serbian World” has already begun in the RS entity.
The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Association of the Movement of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa enclaves have warned that the recent assembly’s decisions are being implemented in the RS entity, particularly in the education sector.
A new curriculum published by the RS Pedagogical Institute, based on the so-called homeland defense war, has raised concerns as it presents criminals Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić as positive figures.
The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Movement Association of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa enclaves have called on the competent authorities, including the Office of the High Representative (OHR) and the Prosecutor’s Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to take action against this violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the law of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
However, the OHR has stated that anyone who believes that parts of the curricula conflict with the current legal framework should raise the matter with the relevant judicial authorities. The Office of the Prosecutor of BiH has also stated that it is a judicial institution and has no competence for interventions in the field of curricula of competent ministries of science or education.
The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Movement Association of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa enclaves have criticized the OHR and the Prosecutor’s Office for their lack of action, stating that they are only interested in specific cases and not in the overall implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the law of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide and the Movement Association of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa enclaves have called on the OHR and the Prosecutor’s Office to immediately stop the demolition of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the clear violation of the law of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
