Moon Hee Joon and Soyul Clarify Misunderstandings Over Son’s Eye Bruise
Korean celebrity couple Moon Hee Joon and Soyul have publicly addressed a large bruise surrounding their four-year-old son’s eye that sparked widespread public misunderstanding, according to coverage from outlets including Chosunbiz and Star News Korea.
The family addressed the situation in a video titled “Making Watermelon Slush to Wrap Up a Chaotic Summer,” posted to their YouTube channel, JAM2 HOUSE, on September 18. The discussion centered on young Hee Woo and a prominent mark near his eye that had persisted for weeks.
How the Injury Happened
Soyul explained the root cause of the injury directly in the video. According to her account, the boy was rolling around on a sofa when an iPad fell directly onto his eye, leaving a mark.
Moon Hee Joon added details regarding how the bruise progressed over time. It’s been almost three weeks now,
Moon Hee Joon stated. It landed right above the eyebrow, then a bump appeared, and the bruise gradually spread down until it fully reached his eye.
The couple admitted that the injury looked severe at first and that its fading appearance contributed to public misinterpretation. Soyul shared that the situation was stressful enough that they had to visit an emergency room, adding that she had never previously seen a child sustain a bruise of that nature around the eye.
The Toy Store Incident and Public Scrutiny

Moon Hee Joon also detailed a separate public encounter that he believes worsened misunderstandings about the child’s appearance. While visiting a toy store, Hee Woo acted boisterously, prompting Soyul to scold him.
According to the couple, the young boy pleaded, Please don’t scold me, don’t scold me,
while carrying the dark bruise near his eye. Moon Hee Joon noted that onlookers observing the reprimand alongside the visible injury might have formed incorrect impressions about parenting dynamics.
Moon Hee Joon and Soyul married in 2017. Moon originally performed as a member of the K-pop group H.O.T., while Soyul debuted with the girl group Crayon Pop. The couple shares two children, a son and a daughter.
