Cuernavaca, Morelos – As winter approaches and respiratory illnesses become more prevalent, Morelos state health officials are urging residents to get their flu shots.
The call to action comes amidst a rise in influenza cases, including five confirmed cases of the H3N2 strain. Health authorities are emphasizing the importance of vaccination as a key preventative measure against the flu and othre respiratory illnesses.
“We are seeing an increase in flu cases, and we want to encourage everyone to protect themselves and their loved ones by getting vaccinated,” said a spokesperson for the Morelos State Health Services (SSM). “The flu vaccine is safe and effective, and it’s the best way to reduce your risk of getting sick.”
The SSM is offering flu shots at various health centers throughout the state. Residents are encouraged to contact their local health center for more information on vaccination schedules and availability.
In addition to vaccination, health officials are recommending other preventative measures, such as frequent handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when sick.
