MORENA Leader Executed in Valle de Allende

María Lucía Mora, the municipal leader of the Morena party in Valle de Allende, Chihuahua, was shot and killed on May 12, 2026.
The attack occurred Tuesday night outside a pharmacy located in the Nicolás Fernández neighborhood. According to local reports, Mora and her husband had just arrived at their residence in a blue Honda when armed individuals opened fire on the vehicle.
Mora attempted to exit the car during the assault but was struck by multiple bullets. Paramedics who arrived at the scene later found the woman, identified as Lucía Guadalupe Mora Ávalos, without vital signs inside the automobile.
Mora, who was known in the region as “Piña,” was a teacher in addition to her political leadership role within the Morena party.
The victim’s husband, who was with her during the attack, sustained serious injuries. He received initial medical attention at the scene before being transported to a regional hospital, where his condition is reported as delicate. He currently remains hospitalized under police custody.
Residents of the Nicolás Fernández neighborhood alerted emergency services via the 911 system after hearing the gunfire, prompting the arrival of security forces and medical personnel.
Police from various agencies cordoned off the area following the reports of detonations. Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía General del Estado) collected ballistic evidence and have initiated a formal investigation into the killing.
