GITEX AFRICA 2026 is taking place in Marrakech from April 7 to April 9, 2026, focusing on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in developing a competitive and sustainable African digital economy. The event is held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI and the authority of Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform.
Hosted by the Digital Development Agency (ADD) and organized by KAOUN International, the 2026 edition convenes more than 1,450 exhibitors and startups representing over 130 countries. The event operates under the theme Catalysing Africa’s Digital Economy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Strategic Expansion of Digital Infrastructure
The event has expanded its sector focus to address critical enablers of digital growth, including data center capacity, cybersecurity resilience, financial systems, and next-generation mobility. This shift reflects a transition for Africa’s digital economy from a phase of vision to large-scale implementation.
Amal Fellah Seghrouchni stated to Medias24 that Morocco intends to build a complete AI ecosystem, spanning from data centers to startups.
Global participation has increased, with first-time country delegations from Thailand and Korea. Major international technology and infrastructure firms, including Ericsson and Mastercard, are participating alongside African partners to advance connectivity, cloud adoption, and digital financial systems.
Corporate Partnerships and Industrial AI
Several strategic business agreements and roadmaps have emerged in conjunction with the event. The Digital Development Agency (ADD) and Concentrix have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating digital transformation within Morocco, as reported by Hespress Français.
In the industrial sector, Inetum Africa has outlined its industrial AI roadmap for 2026, according to reporting from Telquel.ma.
The mobility sector is also represented, with the urban mobility company InDrive marking its presence at the event, as noted by L’Opinion.
