N20 Limerick to Cork Road Closed Following Serious Motorcycle Collision Near Croom

A section of the N20 Limerick to Cork road has been closed this Tuesday morning following a serious single-vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist.
The incident occurred in the townland of ballyfookoon,situated between Croom and Patrickswell,shortly before 1 am. Gardai confirmed that the motorcyclist,a male in his 20s,was transported to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.
Road Closure and Diversions Impacting Commuters
The N20 remains closed between the N21 and O’Rourke’s Cross to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions have been put in place, but motorists have reported chaotic traffic conditions and important delays.
Emergency Response and Witness Appeal
A substantial emergency response was mounted, with eight fire appliances from stations in Limerick city, Rathkeale, and Kilmallock attending the scene. Firefighters from Kilmallock and Rathkeale were still present this morning.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any relevant camera footage, including dash-cam recordings from vehicles travelling in the area at the time, to come forward.
