Motorola Unveils ‘Moto AI’ Suite: New Features Launch Today for Select Devices
Motorola has launched a new AI suite called “Moto AI” for select devices, available starting today. This suite introduces three main features on devices like the Razr (2024), Razr 50, Razr+ (2024), Razr 50 Ultra, and Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. Initially, the features will be available in beta on an opt-in basis.
Users can access Moto AI by double-tapping the back of their device, which opens a menu with these features:
-
Catch Me Up: This feature summarizes notifications that users have missed since their last check-in.
-
Pay Attention: This function records audio until the user stops it, then transcribes and summarizes the audio afterward.
- Remember This: Users can take photos or screenshots, which the feature uses to answer questions later.
While these capabilities seem practical, early demos raise questions about their effectiveness. For example, “Catch Me Up” was shown summarizing notifications but did not handle complex situations like busy group chats. In another demo, “Pay Attention” highlighted a journal entry about time travel but included unrelated footage of people taking notes. Lastly, “Remember This” inaccurately responded to queries about a flight itinerary, providing generic advice before correctly retrieving flight details later.
As with any AI product, the actual performance of these features will be worth monitoring in real-world use.
