Spicy Greek-style Meatballs – A Flavourful delight
Thes meatballs are bursting with Mediterranean flavours! The blend of spices creates a warm and inviting aroma, and they’re surprisingly easy to make.
Serves: 4
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 15-20 minutes
Ingredients:
600g ground lamb
15g coriander, finely chopped
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp coriander (ground)
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to your spice preference!)
½ tsp sea salt
1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, coriander, cumin, turmeric, paprika, ground coriander, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and sea salt. Get your hands in there and really mix everything together well.Roll the mixture into approximately 1.5-inch balls.
- Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the pan, ensuring not to overcrowd it. Cook for six to eight minutes, turning frequently to brown all sides. Flip the meatballs and continue to cook for another six to eight minutes, or until they are cooked through and no longer pink inside.
- Serve these delicious meatballs with your favourite vegetables or a fresh side salad. A dollop of Greek yogurt adds a lovely cooling touch!
Spice it up (or down!): Don’t be afraid to adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to suit your taste. If you prefer a milder flavor, start with ¼ tsp and add more if needed. For a real kick, you could even add a pinch of chilli flakes!
