The National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) is working to support victims of the Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki eruption in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The government is ensuring that the basic needs of affected residents are met.

In collaboration with central and regional governments, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), volunteers, and community members, efforts are ongoing to assist the victims. Setyawan pointed out that basic necessities have been available since the emergency response began and that there is a need to improve logistics at certain locations.

Six safety posts for evacuees have been established in East Flores, verified as secure by the Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG).

Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, emphasized the government’s focus on vulnerable groups affected by the disaster. She assured that everyone is receiving proper care and is safe during this challenging time.
