Movers Help Rescue Girl in Amber Alert: Phoenix QuikTrip Rescue

Movers Help Rescue Girl in Amber Alert: Phoenix QuikTrip Rescue

February 25, 2026 Ahmed Hassan - World News Editor News

PHOENIX – A quick coffee run turned into a critical intervention for employees of Camelback Moving in Phoenix, Arizona, on February 22, 2026. The crew played a pivotal role in the safe recovery of 2-year-old Kehlani Rogers, who had been the subject of an Amber Alert issued after her disappearance from Avondale on February 21st.

The story unfolded at a QuikTrip near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road. According to a news release from Camelback Moving and reports from FOX 10, a security guard first alerted the movers to a possible sighting of Rogers and 23-year-old Marina Noriega, the suspect in the abduction.

Foremen Ralph Vollmert and Kevin Place were at the QuikTrip to pick up drinks and food before starting their workday when the security guard approached them, explaining he believed the child and suspect from the Amber Alert were inside the store. “I knew, you know, we had to do something. I can’t just ignore it,” Vollmert said, according to FOX 10.

Acting swiftly, the Camelback Moving employees coordinated to block Noriega’s vehicle with their trucks, preventing her from leaving the gas station parking lot. “Our trucks are 28, 30 feet long, so we knew it was a good idea to put the truck there just because there’s just no where you could go after that,” Vollmert and Place explained to FOX 10. They relayed the vehicle’s license plate information to authorities.

Phoenix Police arrived on the scene approximately 90 seconds later, taking Noriega into custody and safely reuniting Rogers with her family. “Here comes the popo right here,” one of the movers said, captured on dashcam footage.

The Amber Alert had been issued after Rogers was reported missing from her home near 118th Avenue and Thomas Road in Avondale around 8 a.m. On February 21st. Investigators determined she was believed to be with Noriega, who was described as a recently met acquaintance of the Rogers family.

Prior to the intervention at the QuikTrip, a tipster had reported seeing Noriega and Rogers near Friendship Park in Avondale and that Noriega had mentioned plans to travel to California by train after stopping in Maricopa. Surveillance footage confirmed their presence in Maricopa, where, according to court documents, Noriega stated they had slept on the street.

Noriega has been taken into custody on a third-degree felony charge of custodial interference and is being held on a $250,000 bond. Police reported that Rogers was unharmed but scared after the ordeal.

Camelback Moving President Chad Olsen expressed immense pride in his team’s actions. “This is definitely the first time we’ve ever blocked somebody in where the entire city and county and state are firmly behind us and happy we did so,” Olsen said, according to FOX 10. He also noted that the company had recently begun training employees in human-trafficking awareness.

“We are incredibly proud of our community heroes for their courage, quick thinking and teamwork,” Olsen said. “Their actions exemplify what it means to look out for our community and to take its safety seriously. This is a powerful reminder that the Amber Alert system works. We also want to express our sincere gratitude that Kehlani was safely returned to her family.”

During her February 23rd court appearance, prosecutors stated that a glass pipe was found on Noriega and that she admitted to using methamphetamine the day before the abduction. The investigation is ongoing.
