‘Fire Country‘ Renewed for Season 5, Showrunner Departs
CBS renewed the drama series Fire Country for a fifth season on Thursday, January 22, 2026, but the show will have a new showrunner when it returns. The renewal was part of a larger proclamation covering 10 CBS series, as reported by TV Insider (https://www.tvinsider.com/1240881/ncis-tracker-matlock-fire-country-elsbeth-survivor-renewed-2026-cbs/).
Tia napolitano, who has served as showrunner since the series’ debut, will depart after the completion of Season 4. Deadline (https://deadline.com/2026/01/fire-country-showrunner-tia-napolitano-leaving-season-4-1236685718/) reported the news on January 16,2026,stating Napolitano intends to “focus on her own development” under a continuing deal with CBS Studios.
“Tia has been instrumental in helping both build and steer Fire Country, which not only became a top series, but is also the foundation of a growing universe,” said CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios President David Stapf in a joint statement (via Deadline).
