Ms. Rachel and Mr. Aron Discuss Debut Album I’m So Happy and New Music Video

Children’s music creators Rachel and Aron Accurso are expanding their global reach with a new bossa nova track and music video titled “I Love a Rainbow,” serving as the lead preview for their debut studio album, I’m So Happy, scheduled for release on September 25 via Sony Music Entertainment division Magic Star, according to verified reporting by Billboard.

A Cinematic Look for a Fan-Favorite Track

The newly released music video features an extended version of “I Love a Rainbow,” incorporating a brand-new bridge, a sweeping string section, and live musicians. According to Aron Accurso, the couple wanted the song to feel more expansive than its initial digital iteration.

Filming took place among the Colorado mountains alongside 11 children from local families. Rather than enforcing strict choreography, the Accursos allowed the children to guide the creative process organically. Rachel noted that the collaboration aimed to create a memorable day while encouraging kids to imagine what should happen next in the song.

They knew the song, and [we were] like, What do you imagine? What do you think would be good for this next part? Just creating it with the kids and making sure they had a really special day, Rachel told Billboard.

Aron directed the video himself, maintaining the homegrown, creator-led ethos that defined the early days of their YouTube channel. He acknowledged that the stunning mountain backdrops were partly inspired by their 1-year-old daughter’s recent affinity for “Do-Re-Mi” from The Sound of Music.

Crafting Detailed Music for Young Audiences

The visual ambition of the single mirrors the production strategy behind the upcoming 23-track album. I’m So Happy transforms songs originally introduced on the Ms. Rachel series into full studio recordings featuring lush orchestration, new arrangements, and contributions from 19 vocalists and 42 instrumentalists.

Aron, who holds a professional background in musical theater as a composer, conductor, and Broadway music director, approached each track individually to determine its specific needs. While some selections rely on a smaller ensemble, others like “Caterpillar” support a full orchestra.

Rachel, who holds a master’s degree in early childhood education and music education, emphasized that children’s entertainment should not be simplified or treated with less artistic rigor.

Children deserve detailed, rich music, Rachel told Billboard. Not just deserve, but that they do enjoy it.

Personal History Behind the Music

The emotional depth of the project is anchored by tracks such as “Caterpillar,” which Aron wrote while putting their now-7-year-old son to bed during a period when he was experiencing a speech delay. Their son did not begin speaking until he reached two years and nine months of age.

According to Rachel, even very young listeners who cannot comprehend the lyrical themes often respond deeply to the emotional weight of the composition.

The kids feel deeply and they respond to music, even if they don’t understand the lyrics necessarily, Rachel told Billboard. They feel what went into it.

“I Love a Rainbow” is available now, and the complete 23-track album I’m So Happy arrives on September 25 through Magic Star, the family division of Sony Music Entertainment’s The Orchard.
