MEDLOG Acquires UK Logistics Operator Maritime Group Limited

MEDLOG, a leading logistics and supply chain provider owned by MSC, has successfully completed the acquisition of Maritime Group Limited (Maritime), a prominent UK logistics operator.

The acquisition was finalized on September 2, marking a significant milestone in MEDLOG’s expansion strategy.

John Williams, Executive Chairman of the Maritime Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “We are very pleased to have secured the long-term future of the business as part of an independent global logistics organisation that can provide ongoing investment to help us deliver on our exciting plans to grow the company for all of our stakeholders.”

Williams further emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, saying, “We will continue to develop practical, technology-driven, infrastructure-led supply chain solutions and set high standards for service performance in the UK by ordering new battery electric trucks and rail terminals operating on an open access basis for existing and new customers.”

Maritime, founded 23 years ago, has established itself as one of the UK’s top logistics providers, renowned for its flexible and innovative approach. With a workforce of 3,000 staff and a state-of-the-art network of 41 sites across the UK, Maritime offers a comprehensive range of integrated road and rail freight logistics services, including container transport and warehousing, domestic distribution, freight management, and truck sales.

Following the acquisition, Maritime’s current management team, led by John Williams, will continue to operate the business under the ‘Maritime’ brand, supported by new investment from MEDLOG. Operations will continue uninterrupted, ensuring a seamless transition for customers and stakeholders.
