MSU Denver Day of Giving: Support Roadrunners & 60 Years of Impact
Metropolitan State University of Denver is inviting alumni, faculty, staff, students, and community members to participate in its annual Day of Giving, set for March 19, 2026. This year’s event marks both the 10th anniversary of the fundraising initiative and the University’s 60th anniversary, offering a unique opportunity to celebrate the past, present, and future of the institution.
Beginning today, supporters can contribute to campus funds or projects they are passionate about through online donations or by enrolling in or increasing monthly payroll deductions, according to an announcement from MSU Denver.
The University aims to engage 1,500 donors and provide students with essential resources for success. Several avenues are available for participation, extending beyond simply making a financial contribution.
Five Ways to Participate in Day of Giving
- Make a Gift: Directly contribute to a featured Day of Giving project through the online giving platform.
- Support Roadrunners Athletics: Participate in the seventh annual Roadrunners Athletics Giving Challenge by donating to a favorite sports program, potentially unlocking bonus funds.
- Fuel Matching Gifts: Contribute to the Philanthropy Fund, which will be used to establish matching and challenge gifts for featured Day of Giving projects, amplifying the impact of other donations.
- Become a Day of Giving Advocate: Spread the word on social media and potentially win prizes, including Southwest Airlines flight vouchers or MSU Denver gear. Advocates who successfully bring in at least five gifts are eligible for these rewards, and may also win bonus funds to award to a project of their choice.
- Attend Day of Giving Events: Participate in events scheduled for March 19, including a telethon, an E-Sports Tournament, and the MSU Denver Day of Giving Village.
The Day of Giving events will be free to attend and will include food and opportunities to win bonus funding for campus projects.
The telethon, running from 10 a.m. To 4 p.m., will feature updates on featured projects and appearances from special guests. The fourth annual E-Sports Tournament will take place from 2 p.m. To 5 p.m. In Tivoli Room 261, with winners able to designate funds to any campus area. Registration for the tournament is currently open.
The MSU Denver Day of Giving Village, located on St. Cajetan’s lawn from noon to 2 p.m., will offer information about fundraising projects, yard games, and free food and giveaways. Campus groups and projects can register to participate by March 9.
“The future is what you make it, and your Day of Giving gift will fuel scholarships, student support services and resources MSU Denver students need to succeed,” the University stated. “Together, we can honor our history and empower every Roadrunner to Rise to the Future.”
MSU Denver educates more Coloradans than any other public institution in the state, but receives the least state funding per student, making philanthropic support crucial to its mission.
