Mu Medical, a new ophthalmic care platform, has launched through the combination of Nanodropper, Bedo Solutions and Viseon Labs. The company aims to address challenges in eye drop delivery, adherence and disease monitoring using a connected ecosystem of technologies.
Nanodropper’s focus is on improving eye drop delivery with its Nanodropper, an adapter for standard eye drop bottles that enables microvolume dosing as well as Bedo Solutions’ GentleDrop eye drop guide. Microvolume dosing tools aimed at manufacturers, MuPack-JT2 and MuVeye, are set to be released this year.
Two products still in advancement include Nanodropper’s VuTrack system, which uses AI and machine vision to monitor diseases and track treatment adherence, and MuMist, a topical drug horizontal-delivery device compatible with vutrack.Two AI-driven tools developed by Viseon Labs, VizGuard and Myopia AI, are also coming under Mu Medical.
“At Viseon, we’ve focused on building tools that help clinicians and patients navigate complex, multifactorial diseases like myopia,” Viseon labs founder and CEO sina Fateh, MD, told Healio. “What excited me about Mu Medical is the chance to connect that clinical decision-making and patient-facing therapy with precise delivery and real-world adherence. We’re building care that is not only evidence-based but actually works in practice.”
Mu Medical told Healio that the three companies,each founded by physicians,have until now been separately addressing “closely related gaps in ophthalmic care.”
“Over time,it became clear that their technologies were highly complementary - addressing delivery,adherence,monitoring and clinical decision-making as connected challenges rather than isolated ones,” the company said. “Discussions evolved organically through shared clinical ideology and overlapping partner conversations, leading to the decision to align under a single platform to better support patients and partners across the life cycle of care.”
Robert Kinast,MD, founder and CEO of Bedo Solutions,told healio he was drawn to the partnership because the companies had a “shared,practical mindset.”
“This isn’t about a single device. It’s about supporting patients across their entire daily routine, from accurate dosing to confidence and adherence,” he said. ”Bringing GentleDrop into this broader ecosystem felt like a natural next step.”
Allisa Song, MD, founder and CEO of Nanodropper, will be Mu Medical’s CEO and board chair, according to the release. Fateh will be its chief strategy officer and board observer, and Kinast will be board observer and medical adviser.
