King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, accompanied by President Pedro Sánchez and Regional President Carlos Mazón, were met with a mixture of anger and frustration as they visited Paiporta, a town severely affected by the recent floods in Valencia.
The royal delegation was greeted by shouts of “get out” and mud-throwing from dozens of volunteers and agitated neighbors. Despite the tense atmosphere, the king and queen attempted to engage with the local youth, trying to mediate and offer support in a town that has suffered greatly, with at least 62 deaths and many more still missing.
