Mui Zyu Embarks on First Japan Tour in December
Hong Kong-born, UK-based artist Mui Zyu is set to hold her first tour of Japan in December, bringing her unique and fantastical Asian soundscapes to the country.
Mui Zyu, the solo project of Eva Liu, has been gaining attention for her dreamy strings, tape-like drum samples, and traditional Chinese instruments. Her music is a fusion of different styles, creating a captivating sound that has been praised by fans and critics alike.
Mui Zyu’s first album, Rotten Bun for an Eggless Century (2023), explored her identity and cultural transition as a native of Hong Kong. Her second album, Nothing or Something to Die for (2024), looks outward and explores the chaos that exists in modern times. The album delivers a poignant message of encouragement, urging listeners to connect with others and find solace within themselves.
A Cantonese version of her latest song was released on September 13th, and Mui Zyu has also announced that she will be appearing at Clockenflap, one of the largest international festivals in Hong Kong and one of the leading festivals in Asia.
Mui Zyu’s first tour in Japan will take place on the following dates:
- December 10th at Tsukimiru Kimi Omofu in Aoyama, Tokyo
- December 11th at KD JAPON in Nagoya, Aichi
- December 12th at UrBANGUILD in Kyoto
In each location, she will perform with MANAKANA, marucoporoporo, Eri Nagami, and Yutai Communications. Tickets are on sale now.
