Can Lossiemouth Topple the Champion?

Kempton Park, England – Irish trainer Patrick Mullins is setting his sights on a Christmas miracle as his star mare Lossiemouth prepares to face the formidable Constitution Hill in the Ladbrokes Christmas hurdle at Kempton Park on Boxing Day.

Mullins, who rode Constitution hill to victory in the 2022 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, knows the immense talent of Nicky Henderson’s charge. “I saw him demolish State Man in the Champion Hurdle like everyone else,” Mullins admitted. “If he can get back to his best, he’s going to be very hard to beat.”

however, a question mark hangs over Constitution Hill’s readiness after a lengthy absence from the track. His recent work hasn’t generated the same buzz as in the past, leaving a sliver of hope for lossiemouth’s supporters.”There is that question mark now, there has to be,” Mullins acknowledged. “The long absence, the work that didn’t seem to light anyone’s fire really.”

lossiemouth, a brilliant mare in her own right, arrives at Kempton fresh off a dominant victory in the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse. Mullins believes she’s “very, very good,” but the Christmas Hurdle will be the ultimate test of her abilities.

“This will tell us” if she’s good enough to topple Constitution Hill, Mullins said.

while the Christmas Hurdle showdown dominates headlines, Mullins also has high hopes for a triumphant St. Stephen’s Day at Leopardstown. He’s picked up three plum rides, including the highly-touted Kopek Des Bordes in the opening TRI Equestrian Maiden hurdle.

Mullins was aboard Kopek Des Bordes for his impressive victory in the Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper over Easter. He’s effusive in his praise for the four-year-old.

“I think he’s a beast, a horse with size, scope, stamina, a stunning horse,” Mullins beamed. “He blew me away in Fairyhouse. They went a real strong gallop that day and a horse of Nigel Twiston-Davies’ came over who’d had a few runs and our fellow just demolished him.”

Despite facing stiff competition from Gordon Elliott and Henry de Bromhead’s entries, Mullins is confident Kopek Des Bordes can deliver.

can Anyone Stop Constitution Hill in the Christmas Hurdle?

Horse racing fans are in for a treat this Boxing Day as two of the sport’s brightest stars, Constitution Hill and Lossiemouth, clash in the highly anticipated Christmas hurdle.

Constitution Hill, a dominant force in the racing world, has practically become synonymous with victory. But whispers of doubt are circulating as the champion returns to the track after a period of absence.

“He could be unbeatable if he’s back to his best,” says Patrick Mullins, trainer of Lossiemouth, who knows Constitution Hill well, having even ridden him in a previous race.

However, Mullins also acknowledges that Constitution Hill hasn’t looked quite as sharp in recent training sessions, leaving a glimmer of hope for his own contender, Lossiemouth.

“There’s a sliver of hope for Lossiemouth,” Mullins admits, adding to the intrigue surrounding this highly anticipated matchup.

The Christmas Hurdle promises to be a thrilling spectacle, with the potential for an upset adding to the excitement.

But the festive racing action doesn’t stop there. Mullins is also brimming with confidence about his prospects for St. Stephen’s Day at Leopardstown, particularly excited about the potential of Kopek Des Bordes, a horse he rode to victory earlier this year.

“I was blown away by his talent and potential,” Mullins says of Kopek Des Bordes, further fueling anticipation for a memorable day of racing.

Will Constitution Hill reign supreme, or can Lossiemouth pull off a stunning upset? Tune in to the Christmas Hurdle on Boxing day to witness this epic showdown and discover which horse will emerge victorious.

Tiny Home, Big Dreams: Millennials Ditch Customary Housing for Minimalist Living

Across the country, a new generation is redefining the American dream, trading sprawling suburban homes for compact, eco-friendly dwellings.

Millennials, facing soaring housing costs and a desire for simpler living, are increasingly turning to tiny homes. These pint-sized abodes, typically under 400 square feet, offer a unique solution to the challenges of modern life.

“It’s about freedom and flexibility,” says Sarah Jones, a 28-year-old graphic designer who recently moved into a custom-built tiny home in Portland, Oregon. “I can live closer to the city, reduce my environmental footprint, and still have a beautiful, functional space.”

Tiny homes come in a variety of styles, from rustic cabins to modern minimalist designs. Some are built on wheels, allowing for nomadic living, while others are permanently fixed to foundations.

The movement’s appeal extends beyond affordability. Many tiny home dwellers are drawn to the minimalist lifestyle it promotes.

“Downsizing forced me to prioritize what truly matters,” says David Lee, a 32-year-old software engineer who embraced tiny living after years of accumulating possessions. “I feel lighter, less stressed, and more connected to my community.”

The tiny home movement isn’t without its challenges. Zoning regulations and financing options can be hurdles for potential homeowners. However, advocates are working to overcome these obstacles, pushing for more inclusive policies and innovative financing models.

As the movement gains momentum, it’s clear that tiny homes are more than just a trend. They represent a shift in values, a desire for intentional living, and a commitment to a more lasting future.

For millennials seeking a simpler, more fulfilling life, the tiny home dream may be within reach.
