Chain Reaction Crash on Jakarta Toll road Leaves Several Vehicles damaged, Three Injured

Jakarta, Indonesia – A ‌multi-vehicle collision on the Jakarta Inner Ring Road (Tol dalam Kota) caused significant traffic disruption and⁢ left three people injured on friday, December‌ 13, ⁣2024.

The incident occurred around 04:200 KM on the Cawang section heading east. Police​ say the crash was ‍triggered when a L300 van ‍abruptly changed lanes, entering a contraflow lane, sparking a chain reaction involving five other vehicles.

The collision resulted in a major traffic jam, ‍forcing authorities to temporarily close the contraflow lane.

Six Vehicles Involved,‌ Extensive⁢ Damage

According to AKBP Ojo Ruslani, ‍Head of Traffic Law Enforcement ⁣at the Jakarta ⁣Metropolitan ⁤Police, a⁣ total of six ⁣vehicles were involved in‌ the accident.

“The accident involved six vehicles,” Ruslani told ‌reporters. “The vehicles sustained significant damage.”

The ​damaged vehicles included:

A Mayasari Bakti⁤ bus (B-7865-TGA)
A ⁣Hino box truck ⁤(B-9200-TXX)
A Toyota Vellfire (B-2347-FKI)
A⁤ Toyota Innova Reborn (B-2963-PKN)
A Honda​ Mobilio (D-1688-YBO)
A Hyundai IONIQ 5 electric⁢ car (B-1201-FNO)

Three Injured, No Fatalities

Fortunately, there were ⁣no fatalities reported. Though, three⁢ individuals sustained injuries.

“One victim, identified as DA, suffered a⁤ broken bone, while AS sustained minor injuries.Another ‍passenger​ in the Vellfire was also injured,” Ruslani added.

The ​incident ⁣serves as ⁤a reminder of the importance‍ of ​safe driving practices and the potential consequences of reckless ‌maneuvers on busy roadways.
