Murder in the Ranks: 5 Veterans Sought in Baffling High-Profile Case in Shaanxi, Reward Offered for Capture
High-Ranking Official Murdered in Shaanxi: A Strange and High-Profile Case
Recently, the announcement of a reward by the police in Xianyang, Shaanxi, delayed for 49 days, has triggered speculation from the outside world. The latest news is that the five suspects for whom the Chinese Communist Party has officially offered a reward are retired veterans. They killed the entire family of a local high-ranking official.
On September 5, the CPC police in Xianyang issued a reward notice, saying that the bureau was investigating a serious criminal case. Five people, including Zhang Zhihao, Feng Long, Zhao Junqing, Zhang Pengfei, and Jing Weiwei, had been suspected of committing a serious crime on July 19, 2024, and were on the run.
What did the five suspects do? Why was the reward notice announced 49 days after the incident? The police did not provide further details, calling it only a “serious criminal case,” and the local government did not issue any official notification to the outside world, sparking outside speculation.
According to WeChat screenshots in mainland China, Wu Yongqiang, a police officer in Shaanxi Province, posted to his circle of friends that on July 19, 2024, a brutal murder case occurred in Xiecun, Yaoshi Town, Shangzhou District, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province, resulting in 11 deaths and 1 injury. The ministry has sent officers to the scene, but so far the case has not been reported. It is said that there was an order from above not to report it.

The above-mentioned revelations have attracted widespread public attention, but the related information was quickly blocked in a short period of time, showing that the Chinese Communist Party government is extremely afraid of the case.
Although the Chinese Communist Party has not yet provided a clear explanation of the case, relevant information is circulating through various channels.
On September 12, new information emerged. A WeChat chat screenshot posted by the “Overseas Breaking News” account on the X platform claimed that the five young suspects who committed the crime turned out to be Chinese veterans.
The screenshot shows that among the above five people, Zhang Zhihao from Dengfeng, Henan is the manager of a bathhouse with an area of 5,000 square meters; Zhang Pengfei from Xunyi, Shaanxi is a repairman of a 4S workshop; Liaoning is the owner of a decoration company; Baishui, Shaanxi Jing Weiwei is a computer programmer, and Feng Long from Linyou, Shaanxi Province has no further information about his identity.
According to reports, these five people committed a crime in July this year. They killed the vice mayor of Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, and his entire family.
Soon after, some netizens revealed that the name of Xianyang’s vice mayor, Wang Hongbing, was only missing from the list of the sixth plenary session of the eighth Xianyang municipal committee of the Communist Party of China, held on September 6. This seemed to indirectly indicate that the vice mayor mentioned in the case might be Wang Hongbing.

It has been reported that local police are currently checking identity documents door-to-door.
Regarding this major case similar to that of “Water Margin” where Chao Gai outsmarted the greeting card, some netizens said: “These friends are going to Liangshan!” “The five heroes made trouble in Xianyang, Li Zicheng and Zhang Xianzhong were all from Shaanxi These 5 friends If they can make an impression, they are now Li Zicheng and Zhang Xianzhong.
Wang Dan, an overseas pro-democracy activist, wrote an analysis that if this incident were true, its social impact would be comparable to that of the Yang Jia incident in Shanghai.
Yang Jia, who has been subjected to unjust law enforcement and suffered severe humiliation, entered the Zhabei branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau with a knife in July 2008, killing and injuring 10 police officers and a security guard.
Wang Dan analyzed that in the future there will be more and more incidents of structural violence in Chinese society: “If deep-rooted social problems remain unsolved for a long time, such as the gap between rich and poor, official corruption and lack of sense of social fairness, wait, social dissatisfaction will continue to accumulate, violence will become an inevitable social phenomenon and will eventually endanger the CCP regime.”
