A Hall of Fame Career
Former Cork star Juliet Murphy will be inducted into teh Ladies Gaelic Football Association’s Hall of Fame on november 15, 2024, at the TG4 all-Star awards night. This honor recognizes a career defined by both remarkable on-field success and a lasting impact as an inspiration to future generations of players.
Rising Through the Ranks with Cork
Murphy’s nearly two-decade-long career established her as one of the sport’s finest midfielders. She was a central figure in Cork’s ascent to dominance in Ladies Gaelic Football from the late 1990s through her retirement in 2013.
Her leadership and consistent performance were instrumental in Cork’s breakthrough All-Ireland senior title in 2005. Murphy captained the team to this historic victory,lifting the Brendan Martin Cup for the first time in the county’s history.
She continued to lead as captain in 2006 and 2007, guiding Cork to an remarkable three-in-a-row of All-Ireland championships. Throughout her career, Murphy accumulated an impressive eight All-Ireland senior medals, solidifying her place among the game’s all-time greats.
Individual Accolades and Recognition
Beyond team success, Murphy’s individual achievements are ample. She earned six TG4 All-Star awards, recognizing her extraordinary skill and performance. In 2011, she was further honored with the TG4 Players’ Player of the Year award, a testament to the respect she commanded from her peers. She also secured multiple National league titles and numerous Munster championship victories.

Murphy’s talent extended to the club level, where she achieved All-Ireland club success with donoughmore in both 2001 and 2003.
