The Aguja Misdemeanor Court has sentenced former Zamalek club president Murtada Mansour to a £3,000 fine for insulting and defaming several high-ranking club officials, including Mahmoud al-Khatib, Mamduh Abbas, Walid al-Attar, Hisham Nasr, Hani al-Attal, and Hisham Hatab.
In a related development, the administrative court has decided to suspend the case of former Zamalek club president Mamdouh Abbas, which sought 2 million pounds in compensation from Murtada Mansour due to his removal from Zamalek membership, pending review.
On February 25, 2023, the Court of Cassation upheld two sentences against Murtada Mansour, including a one-month prison term and a one-year suspended prison term, for insulting and accusing Mahmoud al-Khatib, the president of Zamalek, and removing his membership from the club’s chairmanship.
